Program Outline


      The aim of the Cadet Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, promote physical fitness and stimulate the interest of youth in the sea, land and air activities of the Canadian Forces  And to contribute to the development and preparation of youth for the transition to adulthood, enabling them to meet the challenges of modern society, through a dynamic, community-based program.

The Cadet Movement has five main goals,

  1. Emotional and physical well-being
  2. Social competence
  3. Cognitive competence
  4. Proactive citizenship
  5. Understanding the Canadian forces

 

The cadet program is comprised of a combination of stand-alone and interdependent
activities. The activities of the cadet program have been derived from and with consideration to a number of factors;

  • the program aim
  • intended participant outcomes
  • past cadet program activities
  • affiliation with the CF
  • affiliation with the Army Cadet League of Canada 
  • general youth population interests
  • cadet population interests
  • and resource requirements

     The cadet program consists of a wide array of activities that provide a dynamic experience
for cadets.
